The Many Faces of Robert Read

Born in 1949 in Toronto, Robert George Read spent most of his first 8 years in Detroit, Michigan, returning to Toronto in 1958.

Growing up in the wilds of east Scarborough at Bellamy Rd. and Lawrence Ave. which was the end of civilization in Toronto at the time.

Attending Cedarbrae C.I. in the Comercial Art Course and member of the Photography Club laid the foundation for a lifetime of artistic endeavours.

After a long sabbatical from fine art Robert has picked up the brushes once again and invites you to see the result. Come back from time to time and see what’s new.

A 40 year career as an art director/graphic designer developed a keen eye for composition and ambient mood.

Now, living in Oshawa, Robert is producing photography with a passion for capturing and evoking a feeling for a place and time.

Having recently returned from a month long road trip driving the west coast highway from San Diego, CA to Salt Spring Island, BC, shooting over 4000 photos has produced some beautiful images. Please browse the gallery and enjoy what makes him smile!
